Slap Up Beef Stew

After the talk of stew today, I decided to get amongst it and slap one together.

Slice an onion and some garlic

Sweat off the onion and some of the garlic

Brown some bacon bits

Dice your meat (I used chuck steak in the end since it was on special), season and flour

Chuck your bacon bits in the pot with the onion

Brown off your meat

Add meat to pot, along with:
1 diced carrot
1 can diced tomato
some chopped taters – i used a can of minted baby spuds in this case
remaining garlic
enough beef stock to cover (i used 500ml, prolly slightly too much in this case)
seasoning/herbs to taste

Also add secret ingredient of your choice

Bring to boil, then simmer till done. Add flour/cornflour as needed to help thicken.

Finished product!
